Sturt Street, Mount Gambier – Detailed Site Investigation and Remediation
THE SITE:
A 3.5 ha former industrial site
THE PROJECT:

Removal of refueling infrastructure and validation sampling

A site-wide soil investigation program

A site-wide soil vapour assessment program

A detailed hydrogeological/groundwater review

Installation of additional groundwater monitoring infrastructure followed by sampling and assessment

Reporting including liaison with an SA EPA accredited Site Contamination Auditor
THE OUTCOME:
The Site Contamination Audit was successfully completed in June 2022, allowing future residential development to occur at the site.


City of Mount Gambier Rail Lands – Assessment and Remediation
THE SITE:
A 4.5ha railway station compound
THE PROJECT:

A site-wide soil investigation program

A detailed hydrogeological/groundwater assessment

Design of a site remediation program to allow open space development

Successful implementation of controls to manage aesthetics, dust, run-off, noise and odour
-
A total of 60,000m3 material excavated/managed at the site

Over 45,000m3 material requiring specialist contamination management
THE OUTCOME:
The project was successfully delivered with the site now a flagship project for the Council.
North East Rail Line Upgrade – Baseline Contamination Assessments
THE SITE:
A 300km rail line in Victoria

More than 50 sites required assessment

Both in situ and ex situ spoil classification assessments, reported to state and national guidelines

Spoil management undertaken under EPA licensing requirements for a number of the more contaminated sites (offsite disposal of contaminated material)
THE OUTCOME:
Rigorous assessment reports were completed for the project extent to inform reference design, and a number of higher-risk sites were successfully cleaned up.
